Founded in 2014 in Turin, SuiGeneris is an independent Italian publishing house committed to fostering emerging voices and innovative perspectives in literature. We actively seek out and support authors whose works bring fresh insights to the literary landscape. Our publishing interests span narrative, non-fiction and theatrical works, with thematic coverage including satire, philosophy and current issues regarding the LGBTQ+ community and feminism.
Our diverse catalogue is organized into three distinct editorial series, reflecting our broad literary interests and dedication to variety. Clerici e il Minotauro is our series dedicated to theatrical texts, which are in our opinion the structure of the show itself and portray a glimpse of today’s life.
A recent highlight is the rewriting of Lady Macbeth’s female role, exemplifying our openness to inventive reinterpretations and bold storytelling. We also translated a few works, such as Davis Ives’ short plays Time Flies and Another Country by Julian Mitchell. Ciampa e la corda pazza covers narrative works, mostly humorous and grotesque. Last but not least, the Pierre Dumayet series focuses on deeper themes like psychology, philosophy and poetry. In this section you can find a translation of Victoria Ocampo’s essay on Virginia Woolf, a history of philosophy through sonnets and a poetry collection.
SuiGeneris is interested in buying and selling rights.
