Grace Chan is a science fiction writer and doctor interested in the relationships between the brain, mind, technology, space, and identity. Her debut novel, Every Version of You, explores themes such as identity, love, migration, consciousness, and its uploading into virtual reality.
Her short stories have appeared in international magazines such as Clarkesworld, Lightspeed, Fireside, Space and Time Magazine, Black Cranes, Going Down Swinging, Aurealis, Andromeda Spaceways and many others. She has been shortlisted for prestigious awards including the Aurealis Awards, the Norma K Hemming Award and Viva la Novella VII.
Every Version of You won the NSW Premier’s Literary Awards – People’s Choice Award (University of Sydney) and received an honorable mention from the Sydney Morning Herald among the best young Australian writers.
Among his non-literary passions: secretly filming friends at New Year's Eve karaoke, any salt and vinegar-flavored snack, misunderstood sarcasm, and caffeine (without which, she claims, she might cease to exist).
